Recent pictures

Here are a few more pictures, taken yesterday (Friday) in and around Podil, one of the oldest sections of Kiev.
This photo was taken in a very cool little alley behind the History of Ukraine museum (which I haven't been to yet). I can't remember precisely the name, but it's the first modern art street exhibit in Kiev.
Here is another photo from the same alley.
And a third. It is actually a sculpture, not my new apartment:) I think it was made of fiberglass, though the bench was an actual bench.
This was taken in Volodomirskaya Hill park. Just thought it was a neat little structure.
A very close, and dark, shot of the statue of Volodomyr, who brought Christianity (Orthodox) to Kievan Rus, the first Slavic Empire, in the late 10th century.
In Volodomyrskaya Hill Park again, with the Friendship Arch (between Ukraine and Russia) in the background through the trees.

  1. Glad you're having such a good time. I love the pics! And thanks for labeling them, they mean so much more when you give a little info on them. Can't wait to talk to you in person about everything when you get back.
